About the Autism Education Trust
Established in 2007, the Autism Education Trust (AET) is a partnership between Ambitious about Autism, the Autism Alliance and the National Autistic Society (NAS). It is funded and supported by the Department for Education (DfE) and hosted on behalf of the partnership by the NAS.
Over the past 5 years, the AET has raised the quality of educational provision in early years, schools and for students aged 16 to 25 years through its training programme, competency and standards frameworks. With already 100,000 education staff trained, the AET is ready to take the next step in its ambitious plans for the future (see www.autismeducationtrust.org.uk).

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and inspirational leader with good knowledge and experience of the education sector to lead the way in transforming the lives of young people on the autism spectrum. The task is challenging; managing a national programme and developing a long term, self-sustaining strategic plan for the AET.
Reporting to the Programme Board, partnerships are at the heart of everything the AET does, so excellent interpersonal skills, ability to manage contracts and financial acumen are vital for this role.
