Tool 5 - STAR Chart
The STAR chart is one way of understanding the individual by recording and analysing incidences of distressed behaviours. This can be helpful in identifying patterns that may cause distress and help you to plan for adjustments and support strategies.
This Tool will help you to:
- Record detailed observations of when incidences of concerning behaviour occur
- Gather information to recognise patterns in behaviour and develop an understanding of the cause/trigger
- Implement a behaviour strategy to reduce a behaviour whilst still maintaining the same outcomes the behaviour is attempting to achieve
Please note that we do not offer refunds on digital downloads/products.
You can access expert-led training on using all the practical tools through your local AET Partner.
This resource can be used with pupils to learn more about them and identify what is important to them both now and in their future.
This tool offers the opportunity to identify an individual’s strengths and differences across various areas of social understanding and communication.
This Tool looks at the importance of effective communication with parents / carers of autistic pupils.
