This Tool looks at the importance of effective communication with parents/carers of autistic pupils. This Tool can be used as a starting point to communicate with parents/carers of a pupil who is, or you think may be, autistic.
This Tool will help you to:
- Open channels of communication with parents/carers
- Provide the opportunity for parents and carers to feel understood and have input into their child’s wellbeing and development
- Understand your pupil’s strengths and differences better within their home environment and to adapt strategies from home into reasonable adjustments within school
